There are many options that can be taken for planting, whether its a small shelterbelt or a new woodland. Trees to plant can range from a 30cm tall bare root to a 14ft tall 75L+ containerised tree. We can advise on the planning of the planting or we can work from your ideas. Our team can take the process straight from the design stage right through to the planting. we can also manage the establishment of the planting. There are grants available to help with the costs of creating new woodlands. Please view our grants page for more details.
Examples of planting work we have done
Woodland planting - Bare rooted trees planted with Tubex 1.2m guards. Establishing the trees is quicker and they have protection from roe deer. For protection against Fallow deer 1.5m guards can be used.
Woodland planting - This wood has been planted with bare rooted trees, They have spiral guards around the trees to protect them from rabbits. Protection against deer on this site is a deer proof fence.
Small farm shelterbelt - Shelterbelts are a scaled down section of woodland. They can be brilliant for blocking an unattractive view, acting as a windbreak or for habitat cover.
Containerised trees - Container grown trees produce instant visual impact. Most containerised trees range from about 5L up to 80L. However bigger ones are also available. The photo above shows a formal avenue of 75L alder trees. They were planted at about 12ft tall. Support on such trees is recomended by the use of stakes and a rail.
